Press release examples cited by AI, and how we checked.

Releases from this library that an AI assistant, Claude with web search, cited as a source when we asked it a plain question about the news. Each comes with the question, the answer, the pages it cited, and where the release puts the facts the question asked for.

The question
For each release, the plain question a person would ask about the news. It names the company or the event, never the release or this site. The assistant answered in a sentence or two and listed its sources; where it ran a second search, the entry says so.
Counted as cited
Only when the pages the assistant cited included the release itself: the page this site links to, or the issuer's own copy of the same release, such as its newsroom page, its event site or its official wire copy. A news story about the release, or a copy of its text on another site, does not count. Each cited release page was then opened and compared with the release; where a site blocks automated visits, it was read in a browser or in an archived copy instead.
Not listed
Any release the assistant answered from other pages, such as news reports, and any release it was not asked about. Anthropic's own release is left out on purpose, because Anthropic makes the assistant.
Limits
Results vary by assistant, date and location, and the same question asked again can bring back different pages. Each answer is what the assistant found that day, and later news can change it. This is a record of one check, not a ranking and not a count of how often a release is cited. No other assistant or AI search tool was checked.
Try it yourself
Ask an assistant that searches the web the question shown with any release below, for example “How many people attended MWC 2026 in Barcelona?”, and look at which pages it cites.

Claude (Anthropic) with web search, Sep 30, 2026
    Pages the answer cited

    What to notice

    1. The subhead leads with the number: “$11B acquisition to deliver end-to-end data platform …”.
    2. The first sentence, after an exact dateline (Dec. 8, 2025), gives both figures the question is after: “$31 per share, representing an enterprise value of $11 billion”. It names both companies with their tickers (NYSE: IBM, NASDAQ: CFLT).
    3. A labeled “Transaction Details” section repeats the terms (“$31 per share in cash”) and says how the deal is paid for (“available cash on hand”).
  3. OpenAI and NVIDIA Announce Strategic Partnership to Deploy 10 Gigawatts of NVIDIA Systems

    Pages the answer cited
    • openai.comOpenAI's copy of this joint release, which the search for the question returned. This site links to NVIDIA's copy; both carry the same three bullets.
    • fortune.comA Fortune report of Feb 2, 2026 quoting Jensen Huang on the deal, from a second search on its status

    What to notice

    1. Three bullets above the body hold the deal's figures: “at least 10 gigawatts”, “up to $100 billion in OpenAI progressively as each gigawatt is deployed”, and the first gigawatt “in the second half of 2026 on the NVIDIA Vera Rubin platform”.
    2. The headline states the size with its unit (“Deploy 10 Gigawatts of NVIDIA Systems”).
    3. The lead names the deal type (“a letter of intent”) and says “intends to invest up to”, so an answer can present the $100 billion as an intention rather than a done deal.

Claude (Anthropic) with web search, Sep 30, 2026
    Pages the answer cited

    What to notice

    1. The headline gives the round and the valuation: “Series K Investment at >$100 billion valuation”.
    2. The dateline gives the exact place and date (San Francisco, August 19, 2025), and the lead ends on a one-fact sentence: “This funding values the company at >$100 billion.”
    3. The first sentence says where the deal stood (“signed a term sheet … expects to close soon”), so an answer can describe its status correctly.

    Pages the answer cited
    • apple.comThis release, at the page this site links to.
    • apple.comApple's Aug 6, 2025 release raising the pledge to $600 billion

    What to notice

    1. The headline carries the original pledge the answer starts from: amount, country and period in one line (“more than $500 billion in the U.S. over the next four years”).
    2. The first sentence repeats the same figure and period, after an exact date (February 24, 2025) and a dateline.
    3. A later paragraph says what the $500 billion covers (suppliers in all 50 states, data centers, Apple TV+ productions in 20 states), so the figure is explained as well as stated.
